About BestUSAVPS

Independent VPS reviews backed by real benchmark data. We rent servers with our own money and test them so you don't have to.

Our Mission

BestUSAVPS exists because choosing a VPS provider shouldn't require guesswork. Too many review sites regurgitate spec sheets without ever spinning up a server. We take a different approach: we rent every provider we review with our own money, run standardized benchmarks, and publish the raw numbers alongside our analysis.

Our goal is straightforward — give you the data and context you need to pick the right VPS for your specific use case, whether that's a $5/mo hobby project or a production cluster handling millions of requests.

Who We Are

Alex Chen

Senior Systems Engineer • Lead Reviewer

Alex has spent 7+ years building and managing cloud infrastructure — from single-server startups to multi-region Kubernetes clusters. He's personally deployed and benchmarked 50+ VPS providers across US datacenters, with a particular focus on price-to-performance ratios that matter for real workloads. Before BestUSAVPS, he worked as a DevOps engineer at two SaaS companies, managing infrastructure budgets from $500/mo to $50,000/mo.

How We Test

Every VPS provider on BestUSAVPS goes through the same standardized testing process:

1. Server Provisioning

We sign up as a regular customer — no press accounts, no vendor partnerships, no special treatment. We pay with our own credit card and use the same signup flow you would. This ensures we experience the same onboarding, pricing, and support as any other customer.

2. Benchmark Suite

We run a consistent set of benchmarks on every server:

  • CPU Performance: Sysbench single-threaded and multi-threaded tests, median of 3 runs
  • Disk I/O: fio random read/write IOPS at 4K block size, sequential throughput
  • Network Speed: iperf3 tests to multiple US endpoints, measuring both throughput and latency
  • Real-World Workloads: WordPress page load times, Docker build speeds, database query benchmarks

3. Extended Monitoring

We don't just benchmark once and move on. We monitor each server for at least 7 days, tracking CPU steal, memory availability, disk latency consistency, and network stability. This catches "noisy neighbor" issues that short tests miss.

4. Support Evaluation

We submit real support tickets — both technical questions and billing inquiries — and measure response times, accuracy, and helpfulness. We test every support channel each provider offers (live chat, ticket, phone, email).

5. Feature Verification

We verify every feature claim: free backups, DDoS protection, firewall rules, API functionality, one-click apps. If a provider says they offer it, we test it.

Our Independence

BestUSAVPS is independently funded. We earn revenue through affiliate commissions when you sign up for a provider through our links — but this never influences our rankings or ratings. Providers with affiliate programs and providers without them receive the same testing rigor.

We've given low ratings to providers with generous affiliate programs, and high ratings to providers with no affiliate program at all. Our editorial policy and affiliate disclosure explain this in detail.
